Kersten started at the clinic in May 2011 after having worked in the UK as a GP and senior partner for many years. He and his family moved to Australia to work at Kardinia Health. Previously he worked as a GP with special interest in cardiology and was involved in managing regional cardiac networks in the UK. Kersten has a special interest in cardiovascular and related diseases, chronic disease management and minor operations. He is licensed to do Implanon insertions and clozapine prescribing. Kersten is a Fellow of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine and holds specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. He also holds specialist registration in Germany and in the United Kingdom.
