Dr Wong attained his Bachelor of Medicine from the University of Sydney, where he was awarded Honours. After working as a resident in Dermatology and Plastic Surgery at Concord Hospital, he then pursued dermatology training at various major teaching hospitals in Sydney and Newcastle, including Royal Prince Alfred (RPA), St. Vincents, John Hunter and Westmead Hospitals.
At Westmead Hospital, Dr Wong gained considerable paediatric dermatology experience where he treated many patients with vascular malformations (e.g., Port wine stains) by laser therapy.
He also trained at both Skin and Cancer Foundations in Sydney, where he consolidated his experience in dermatological surgery and skin cancer and melanoma management. During this time, he gained further experience in dermatitis, dermatopathology, phototherapy, vitiligo, hair and nail disorders and photodynamic therapy.
Dr Wong has also completed a Masters of Medicine at the University of Sydney, researching the role of neuropeptides (chemicals in nerve endings of the skin) in their potential cause of psoriasis. From his research, he has published scientific papers and presented at both local and international dermatology conferences, including at the 20th World Congress of Dermatology.
Currently in private practice, Dr. Wong complements a busy professional life with sports, travel, fine cuisine and a keen interest for drawing and art.
