Dr Khamly completed his medical degree (MBBS) in 1998 through the University of Melbourne. He completed the Royal Australasian College of Physicians examinations in 2002 and, was admitted to Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2005 as a Consultant Physician in Medical Oncology and Palliative Care.
Since obtaining his Fellowship, Dr Khamly has been a Consultant at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre with the Gastrointestinal, Breast, Sarcoma and Uro-Oncology Services and currently continues as a member of the Sarcoma and Uro-Oncology Services. He was previously a Consultant with the Palliative Care Service at The Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital.
Throughout his career, Dr Khamly has been actively involved in clinical and translational research as well as medical education. In 2006 he was the recipient of the Haematology and Oncology Targeted Therapies Research Fellowship Award from the Clinical Oncological Society of Australasia (COSA) and the Medical Oncology Group of Australia (MOGA) in its inaugural year.
Dr Khamly is a member of The Australian Medical Association (AMA), The Royal Australasian College of Physicians, COSA, MOGA, The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), The Australian Sarcoma Group (ASG) and The Australasian Sarcoma Study Group (ASSG).
Dr Khamly remains interested in improving outcomes from cancer and is an inaugural and ongoing member of the Victorian Cooperative Oncology Group’s Sarcoma Advisory Committee with the Cancer Council of Victoria. He has also previously been involved in a state wide program for adolescents and young adults with cancer. He retains an interest across the spectrum of non-haematological solid malignancies and would welcome referrals and enquiries.
