As a leading Gynaecologist in Brisbane, Dr Ken Law has special interests in endometriosis, period problems, chronic pelvic pain, vulval pain, and prolapse/urinary incontinence, utilising the latest minimally invasive techniques for treatment. He has extensive experience in performing laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery for hysterectomy, ovarian cysts and fibroid removal. He was one of the first gynaecologists in Brisbane to perform Robotic hysterectomy and Robotic myomectomy (fibroid removal) in Brisbane.
He is meticulous with his surgical technique, and uses the latest technologies to make surgery as safe and minimally invasive as possible. He delivers holistic individualised care tailored for each individual woman, and has been caring for women in Brisbane for almost 10 years.
Dr Ken Law grew up in Brisbane, and graduated with first class Honours in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Melbourne, before moving back to Queensland for his post-graduate specialist training. He has undergone extensive training and attained experience in gynaecological surgery nationally and overseas. He trained in high-risk obstetrics in busy tertiary centres including the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and the Mater Hospital. In 2010, he was appointed Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Hong Kong, working in the gynaecological oncology unit at Queen Mary Hospital, where he gained great experience in open, laparoscopic and robotically-assisted gynaecological surgery. He subsequently further developed his interest in minimally invasive treatment for benign gynaecological conditions by undertaking an Advanced Laparoscopic Fellowship in Sydney. He has delivered numerous presentations on minimally invasive gynaecology at various national and international meetings, and has published extensively in well-recognised peer reviewed medical Journals.
Dr Ken Law is a certified colposcopist of the RANZCOG Colposcopy Quality Improvement Program (C-QuIP) and is a member of the Australian Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (ASCCP), the Australian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery Society (AGES), the Australian and New Zealand Vulvovaginal Society, and the American Association for Gynecological Laparoscopists (AAGL). It is a privilege for him to walk through the Journey of each pregnancy with each and every woman that books in with him.
