Dr Herborn graduated from Sydney University in 1977 and completed my hospital years in Newcastle before travelling to New Zealand to complete an Obstretic diploma. After travelling and working in the UK for a breif period she moved to Lithgow where she worked briefly in General Practice before moving to Blackheath. Dr Herborn then set up a practice in Katoomba in 1986 after successfully completing her GP training and passing the FRACGP exams. For many years Dr Herborn practices in both Katoomba and Blackheath as well as being an active participant on the Obstetric roster at Blue Mountains Anzac Memorial Hospital. This provoided Dr Herborn with the opportunity to care for many families for over 30 years – the time Dr Herborn practiced in the Upper Mountains.
Dr Herborn completed a Master of Psychological Medicne through UNSW in 1994 and a big part of her working life has involved working on establishing better liasons and shared care arrangements between hospital , community, psychiatic services anf the Blue Mountian’s GP’s, for the better care of our mental health clients.
When IPN established the Upper Mountians Medical Centre 6 years ago Dr Herborn took the opportunity to move her practice to the new centre . This will enable continuity of care for her patients long term as well as all getting older together.
Dr Herborn’s other interests include enjoying time with my friends and family, Husband, children and grandchildren , bushwalking, travelling, playing music on the piano and violin , and her garden.
