Dr Katrina Reardon is an experienced Neurologist with a special interest in Neuromuscular disorders which includes, inherited myopathies, muscular dystrophies, motor neuron disease and peripheral nerve diseases. She is also experienced in nerve conduction studies and electromyography.

Dr Reardon graduated with honours from University of Tasmania medical school in 1991 having been awarded 6 prizes for merit in different areas. She was awarded a fellow of the Australian College of Physicians in 1998 and went on to complete Neurology training at Monash Medical Centre and St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. Dr Katrina Reardon completed further training in the neuromuscular field at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. She was awarded a Dora Lush Scholarship and completed her PhD studies at Melbourne University in 2001. Dr Katrina Reardon has over 25 papers published in peer reviewed journals

Dr Reardon has provided a needle muscle biopsy service at St Vincent’s Hospital for 15 years and has been involved in Neuromuscular Clinics and Nerve conduction study/EMG clinics at St Vincent’s Hospital for 10 years prior to continuing to develop a special interest in the care of Chronic Neuromuscular conditions at Calvary Healthcare Bethlehem Melbourne.

Dr Reardon developed a Laboratory Diagnostic Service in 2002 for the diagnosis and genetic analysis of muscular dystrophies. She has collaborated with clinical laboratory research in the diagnosis of muscular dystrophies and publications in this area.

She has been an active member of the World Muscle Society since 2000 and regularly attends international meetings in the field of Neuromuscular disorders and Motor Neuron disease.

Dr Reardon is a Senior Neurology Consultant at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne and contributes actively to in-patient care of General Neurology and Stoke patients. She is regularly asked to teach in the area of Neuromuscular disorder for Neurology trainees, physician trainees and medical students.

Dr Katrina Reardon runs comprehensive clinics at Calvary Healthcare Bethlehem managing patients with severe neuromuscular disorders with the assistance of a multidisciplinary team and external patient support groups. She has been involved in international multi-centre clinical trials for treatment of Motor Neuron disease.
