Dr Katrina Gmach has been a GP for over 30 years, having obtained her medical degree from UNSW, with specialist GP training at Hornsby Hospital and its associated GP training practice.
She has worked in rural general practice, spending 5years in Townsville, where she has returned to be a locum intermittently over the years.
Katrina has also worked for the Family Planning Association in several clinics around Sydney when IFPA was a significant women’s health advisory service. In recent years she has also done locum work for the Aboriginal Medical Service at Mt Druitt.
Dr Gmach has spent the last 23 years working at Beecroft Family Practice. She has a special interest in women’s health, preventative health interventions and mental health. She has a strong commitment to treating the whole person to help achieve the best possible health outcome for her patients.
Dr Gmach believes that the greatest pleasure of long term general practice is looking after up to 4 generations of the same family, watching them thrive and survive the (sometimes) bumpy road of normal challenges and joys, and being invited to be involved in that process.
