A/Prof Tonks’ areas of interest are diabetes (type 1, type 2 and pregnancy-related), insulin resistance including polycystic ovarian syndrome, thyroid disorders, obesity and other endocrine diseases.
She regularly attends national and international meetings and has given talks to scientists, other doctors, and public seminars at the Garvan Institute and for the Australian Pituitary Foundation. She is an invited speaker at the 2011 Endocrine Society of Australia Annual Scientific Meeting, Perth.
