Katie grew up in Brisbane and worked as a mining engineer in regional and remote Queensland and NSW prior to completing her medical degree at the University of Wollongong in 2010. She worked at The Prince Charles and Redcliffe hospitals prior to training as a GP. She has worked as a GP in Nambour and Bribie Island. Katie has a special interest in women’s and child health, sexual health and chronic disease. She has completed further education in sexual and reproductive health.
