Karine originally graduated from university in 1999 with a Bachelor of Nursing, and worked as a Clinical Nurse at Princess Margaret Hospital for 10 years, primarily in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit. Being passionate about Paediatrics, Karine returned to university to study Medicine in 2008 (graduating 2011) in order to further her knowledge and skills. After graduating as a Doctor, Karine worked at Fremantle Hospital in a variety of departments, including general adult medicine, emergency, psychiatry and general surgery. She also spent some time working at King Edward Memorial Hospital for Women. Karine returned to work at Princess Margaret Hospital as a doctor for almost 3 years, during which time she completed her Diploma of Child Health. Karine is interested in all areas of General Practice, but has special interests in women’s health and paediatrics, including post natal care, contraception including IUD insertions, childhood illness and behavioural issues. When not at work, you’ll find Karine enjoying family time, reading fiction novels and spending time with friends.
