Dr Karen Stringer is the Acting Chief Medical Officer for the Northern Territory Department of Health.

She is a general practitioner, with a long history of involvement in organisational general practice and medical education.

In addition, Karen has overarching responsibility for prevocational training and assurance in the NT.

Karen was the inaugural Area Coordinator for the Family Medicine Program in the NT, a previous RACGP medical educator, clinical tutor for the NT Medical Program and a previous Director of Clinical Training at the Royal Darwin Hospital.
