Dr Karen Shepherd continues to work as a General Practitioner in southeast Brisbane after over 20 years. Graduating from the University of Queensland in 1991, she trained at the Mater Adult, Mothers’ and Children’s hospitals. Dr Shepherd was successful in gaining her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 1996.
Dr Shepherd is greatly experienced and enjoys all aspects of General Practice but has particular interests in women’s health, allergy & immunology, chronic illness and mental health. She is trained in the insertion and removal of the Implanon contraceptive devices and in the Biobalance approach to the diagnosis and treatment of anxiety and depression.
Finally, outside of work, Dr Shepherd is married and has two teenage children. She loves to spend time travelling with her family, cooking, reading and catching up with friends.
