Dr Joshua Hann is an experienced Brisbane Ophthalmologist and the director of Eastside Eye Specialist Care. He is dedicated to providing the best possible care for his patients. Shortly after completing his medical degree, Dr Hann was inspired when a patient remarked that he’d rather lose his legs than his eyesight. This encounter strengthened his determination to become an ophthalmologist, and highlights just how critical vision is to patients. Dr Hann takes a consultative approach to your treatment, empowering you to make the right decisions for your eye health.
Extensive Experience Dr Hann’s expertise in a number of areas means he can offer a wide variety of treatments for you. While his fellowship concentrated on the anterior segment/cornea, he proficiently manages the full range of Ophthalmic conditions. His sub-specialty interest is in the medical and surgical management of Cataract, Glaucoma, and Cornea disease, for which he received extensive further training.
Since graduating from the University of Sydney Medical School, he underwent specialty training in Queensland, and has been practicing in Brisbane since his graduation from Ophthalmology training. Dr Hann operates from a number of private hospitals across Brisbane, and is an anterior segment specialist at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. He is dedicated to training the next generation of eye specialists through his work as a senior lecturer at the University of Queensland. He is also a member of RANZCO‘s volunteer training subcommittees, and through this program has been fortunate enough to train other Ophthalmologists in third-world countries. To ensure he can provide the best possible outcome for your vision, Dr Hann maintains a keen interest in the latest cutting edge developments in diagnosis and management. As a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists, he is regularly updating his skills and knowledge in the latest surgical techniques and ophthalmological breakthroughs
