Dr Jon Barrell was born and schooled in Ballarat, attended Monash University, did his residency in Dandenong (and London) and settled in Daylesford in 1986. He has MBBS, DRACOG, and FRACGP and as a founding principal of Springs Medical, he works full time between our Daylesford and Trentham campuses, sharing the after hours roster. He is a Conjoint Senior Clinical Lecturer in the School of Medicine, Faculty of Health at Deakin University. Jon enjoys teaching medical students and GP Registrars, and has been a FRACGP Examiner, Vice Chairman of the Ballarat and District Division of General Practice, Project Manager for the Victorian Rural Divisions Co-ordinating Unit, Assistant Cub Scout Leader, Captain and President of Hepburn Springs Golf Club and Birch Ward Councillor to Hepburn Shire Council. He lives locally with his wife Maureen and enjoys golf, gym, travel, sailing, cycling, camping, wine and food.
