Jolene Fraser did her medical training in New Zealand graduating in 1995 with distinction in the top 1% of her class. She entered the paediatric training programme in 1998 in Melbourne and worked throughout hospital in Melbourne training as a general paediatrician with subspecialty interests in child mental health, behaviour and development. After getting her Fellowship in 2004 she has worked in community paediatrics in the North and Western suburbs including in autism diagnostic clinics at Sunshine Hospital. She has post graduate qualifications in child development and autism diagnosis. Jolene has special interest in early attachment and infant mental health. She has published papers on sleep disorders and also ADHD. She has set up a Vitamin D clinic at the Northern Hospital and has extensive knowledge about the importance of nutrition and sleep in child health. She works closely with the continence service at the Northern Hospital in the care of children with incontinence and chronic constipation. Jolene has worked for the last 6 years in the Allergy department to develop a subspecialty interest in allergy after noting the high rates of gastro-intestinal problems in the children she as caring for with autism spectrum disorders. She has strong ties to the Allergy Department at the Royal Children’s Hospital.
