Dr John Urie has been a partner at Bairnsdale Medical Group since 1982. He grew up in Melbourne, graduating from Melbourne University in medicine in 1976, then working at the Royal Melbourne , the Austin, Mercy Maternity and Royal Children’s hospitals. He worked as an Australian volunteer abroad in Northern India for two years before moving to live and work at Bairnsdale Medical Group and the Bairnsdale hospital. He is married to Mendy with three children, two grandchildren, two boats and two acres of garden to keep him busy.
