Dr Moran’s skills and experience are diverse and storied. He is a foundation member and fellow of ACCRM and is a member of the South Pacific Underwater Medical Society. He is also currently the team Doctor for the Australian Transplant team, which competes in the Transplant Olympics. John has been a GP for over 33 years at Cabarita Beach Medical Centre and has practices Rural Medicine for over 35 years. In his tenure at CBMC he was the managing partner for over 30 years recently stepping down. Under his guidance CBMC is the longest continuous registrar teaching practice in the region. Dr Moran’s particular medical interest includes rural medicine and undergraduate medicine. As a keen enthusiast off Rugby Union John has offered his services as the GP of Queensland Junior Rugby Union for well over a decade. John is an Assistant Professor at Bond University and is Sub Dean of Medicine at University Centre of Rural Health (Sydney University) and plays a key role in the North Coast Medical Education Collaborative that aims to establish full time rural education opportunities for medical students. Recently he has been appointed to the Area Health Board 2015.
