Dr John Hunt is a well respected Respiratory & Sleep Disorders Physician who has been consulting in the Western region for many years. He sees patients with a wide range of Respiratory and Sleep conditions, though he has a special interest in Asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Lung Cancer, Sleep Disorders and Bronchoscopy. Dr Hunt obtained his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 1979 from Monash University. He then went on to become a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, completing his training in 1988. He has also worked overseas, including the completion of further postgraduate studies at the Brompton Hospital, London.
As well as having clinical research interests in COPD and Asthma, Dr Hunt is actively involved in teaching, taking part in educational meetings and symposia with Primary Care Physicians. He is also a member of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand and the Australasian Sleep Association.
