Dr John Flood is a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, and specialises in cosmetic plastic surgery.
His main interests are in facial cosmetic surgery particularly cosmetic eyelid surgery. Dr Flood also reconstructs facial defects after skin cancers have been removed.
He has a special interest in fat transfer for treating facial ageing.
Dr Flood also specialises in Liposuction & breast surgery. He is a foundation member of Breast.com.au.
After completing his Plastic Surgical training in Sydney, Dr Flood undertook a Fellowship in Maxillo-facial Surgery in South Western University, Dallas, Texas. This involved training in all aspects of facial surgery, including both acute trauma and post-traumatic reconstruction, elective osteotomies of the jaw bones and facial aesthetic surgery.
He is on the Editorial Board for Selective Readings in Plastic Surgery, which is used as a core curriculum for plastic surgical trainees throughout the world, and is an author of peer reviewed papers as well as a number of book chapters.
Dr Flood is involved in Interplast, a voluntary organisation that treats disadvantaged children in developing countries, and he has performed surgeries in Fiji and the Marshall Islands.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
Dr Flood is currently involved in research into adult stem cells & their use in regenerative medicine & chronic pain.
