John (Jack) Ashwin graduated from the University of Queensland in 1981 and has been in general practice at Mermaid Beach since 1986. He was awarded a Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1987 and Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of GPs in 1988.
