Joel graduated from the University of Sydney in 2010. He completed rotations through various hospital departments at Westmead, Orange and Coffs Harbor, before joining the Australian Regular Army as a Medical Officer from 2013-2016. This saw him posted to rural and remote locations in the Northern Territory and Queensland, in addition to overseas deployments in Papua New Guinea and the Middle East. Joel has enjoyed working in general practice in both Wynnum and Bulimba since 2016. Joel has a keen interest in dermatology and sports medicine and has experience in emergency and military medicine. He enjoys trail running, playing guitar and basketball in his downtime.
