Dr Jill Benson AM has been a GP for over 30 years. In addition to her work at Adelaide City General Practice, she has worked at Doctors’ Health SA since 2000. Dr Benson also works at Pangula Mannamurna Aboriginal health service in Mt Gambier and is the founding Medical Director of Kakarrara Wilurrara Health Alliance in the remote Aboriginal communities at Yalata, Oak Valley and Tjuntjuntjara. Dr Benson is a Medical Educator at GPEx, the GP Training Organisation for SA and is a researcher in the Discipline of General Practice at the University of Adelaide. She sits on national and international refugee health and mental health committees. She was awarded an Order of Australia in 2012 for her work with Aboriginal people, refugees and in mental health.
