Jeff has special expertise in all facets of cardiac rhythm management having almost 20 years clinical expertise in this subspecialty. He performs interventional procedures such as electrophysiology studies, catheter ablation, device therapy with pacemakers and implantable defibrillators and cardiac resynchronization therapy for heart failure. Jeff has been staff specialist in cardiology and electrophysiology at Monash Medical Centre since 1992 and an honorary specialist in electrophysiology at Royal Children's Hospital since 1996. He is currently a member of the Senior Medical Staff at Southern Health and is also the Head of Cardiac Rhythm Management at Monash Herat, Southern Health.
Jeff twice won the University of British Columbia Department of Medicine Joseph Diamond Memorial prize for cardiovascular research and received honourable mention in the 1992 North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology Young Investigator Award prize. Jeff has published in the areas of use of antiarrhythmics, AV node ablation and accessory pathway potential. Jeff has performed a number of “first in Australia” procedures including the first “Artic Front” pulmonary vein isolation for atrial fibrillation case and, in November 2009, the first WATCHMAN left atrial appendage occlusion procedure.
