Clinical Interests
Jayne is a general and developmental paediatrician who has extensive experience in the management of a wide range of medical, developmental and behavioural problems in children from birth through adolescence.
Jayne has special interests in management of the following conditions:
developmental, behavioural and learning problems including ASD and ADHD. allergy conditions including food allergy, asthma, eczema and allergic rhinitis. continence and toileting problems. Background and Experience
As well as working at VCC, Jayne is a consultant paediatrician in the Paediatric Continence Clinic at Monash Medical Centre and at the private Epworth Allergy Clinic.
Jayne studied medicine at the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne in England and moved to Melbourne in 1997. She completed her specialist paediatric training at the Royal Children’s Hospital in 2008. She worked in the allergy department at the Royal Children’s Hospital as a consultant paediatrician between 2008 and 2013 and completed the Allergy Training Program for paediatricians at the Royal Children’s in 2011.
Jayne is a member of the Royal Australian College of Physicians, a professional member of the Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy (ASCIA). She attends the ASCIA conference annually.
Practice Philosophy
Jayne is committed to family centred care and works closely with families to ensure the best possible outcome for the children she treats. She has developed strong working relationships with a range of allied health professionals, including psychologists, speech pathologists, occupational therapists and physiotherapists and enjoys working as part of a multidisciplinary team. She liaises with educators involved with a child and family and attends multidisciplinary case conferences as required.
Jayne has three school-aged children and life is full and busy. She has a passion for health and fitness and manages her own gym time with a little time left over to pursue her interests in art and design, fashion, food, reading and travel.
