Dr James Yu has enjoyed a varied medical career, gaining a wealth of knowledge. He graduated from Hong Kong University in 1973 and practiced in Hong Kong for a few years, commencing training in Neurosurgery before moving to Australia. He worked in the Blue Mountains region till 1989, at the Blue Mountains Hospital as a doctor and then Hazelbrook as a Visiting Medical officer as a Physician and Anaesthetist while also working at his own practice. He moved to Sydney where he first practiced in Toongabbie for 16 years, then moved to Parramatta and finally joined the Chatswood Medical & Dental Centre in 2017. James likes to take the time to talk his patients through illnesses and surgeries, with a particular view to ease any anxiety and stress. He has a special interest in diabetes education, sports medicine, aged care, antenatal care, mental health and pain management. His interests further include skin conditions (lesion removal), minor injuries and surgery as well as occupational health and medicals and all aspects of family medicine.
