Dr Ward enjoys a diverse practice working in many hospitals across Adelaide between both public and private appointments. He is a senior staff specialist in Anaesthesia at Flinders Medical Centre, with an interest in teaching, and is currently the supervisor of training of the provisional fellowship program. Dr Ward completed a fellowship in Vascular, ENT surgery and Liver Transplant anaesthesia at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in 2008, and enjoys providing care for complex and high risk procedures. He has extensive experience in Paediatric anaesthesia, and regularly works with paediatric dental surgeons and ENT surgeons. He also provides ECT anaesthesia and was on the ECT advisory committee who developed State guidelines in 2013. He is strongly committed to continuing professional development, and regularly attends national and international conferences, workshops and seminars to ensure his practice is evidence-based. He has also presented at both state and national conferences. Understanding the complexity of modern anaesthetic practice, Dr Ward is able to offer pre-operative consultation and optimisation for patients with complex needs, or undergoing major procedures.
