After graduating from the University of Queensland in 1970, Dr Korman held positions at the Princess Alexander Hospital, Brisbane, and the Royal North Shore, Sydney. He also established microsurgery at the Royal Womens Hospital, Sydney.

Soon after qualifying as an obstetrician and gynaecologist in 1978, Dr Korman became a Consultant at the Gold Coast Hospital and commenced his own private practice. In 1988 he established the Allamanda Infertility Medical Centre in Southport and in 1998 was appointed Medical Director of Monash IVF Gold Coast Fertility Centre.
