Dr Ingrid Lipka was born in Lilydale, to Latvian and English parents, both doctors who met at Monash Medical School. After completing a degree in Engineering and Arts and working as a Civil Engineer for a number of years she was drawn to a caring person oriented career and retrained as a doctor at The University of Melbourne.

She underwent her clinical training at Shepparton, Wangaratta and St Vincents Hospitals with an elective rotation to Luganville Hospital in Vanuatu which still has a TB ward and the operating theatre is the only place with air conditioning in town. She completed her internship and further work at Box Hill, Maroondah, The Angliss and Wantirna Hospitals.

Ingrid commenced at Eastbound Medical Clinic in 2011 for her registrar training, and liked it so much she has returned here between rural placements and maternity leave. She was awarded the fellowship to the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2015.

Her interests are in Paediatrics, Mental Health, Skin Cancer, Skin Cosmetics, Fertility and General Medicine.

Ingrid lives with her husband Martin, an Engineer whom she incidentally met at Monash Engineering school, their children Julius and Heidi, and an energetic cocker spaniel x beagle. They enjoy raising beef cattle in the Otways in their spare time.
