Mr Bayat is an Australian-trained Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon dedicated to the management of a wide range of Arterial and Venous Disease. His particular interests are in the endovascular management of lower limb arterial and venous disease, post thrombotic syndrome and aortic aneurysms.

Iman is proud of his Persian roots and international education and upbringing. Mr Bayat completed his Internship and Basic surgical training in the United Kingdom granting him Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. It was during his basic surgical training in Portsmouth and Torbay that Mr Bayat was first exposed to vascular surgery. “I fell in love with the elegant & precise surgical techniques of vascular surgery. One got to make a big difference in the lives of one’s patients. Australia was well known for its excellent training in this field - I wanted the best and had to follow my dream” Iman reminisces on why he chose vascular surgery.

After several years of additional General, Paediatric and Vascular surgical training as a registrar at the Mater Hospital in Brisbane, Mr Bayat entered the Vascular Surgery Training Program of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. During his Vascular Surgery training in Australia, Mr Bayat had the privilege of training at The Royal Perth, The Western and Austin Hospitals. His training also included completing one year of training at the prestigious Cambridge University Hospitals NHS trust renowned for its state of the art treatment of Aortic Aneurysms and treatment of Chronic Venous disease. After being granted Fellowship of the Royal Australasian college of Surgeons in Vascular Surgery Iman went on to undertake two short post-fellowship trainings at the Skane Univeristy Hopsital in Malmo Sweden renowned for its complex aortic work and the Sanger Heart and Vascular institute in Charlotte North Carolina, USA known for both its Thoracic aortic and complex venous expertise. Iman completed his post fellow training at Box Hill hospital.

Mr Bayat has recently been appointed as the Head of Unit – Vascular Surgery at Northern Health (NH) where he has helped establish the NH Vein Clinic as part of a vision to create a centre of excellence for Chronic Venous Disorders.
