Dr Hong Tran completed her medical degree at Melbourne University and trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Women’s Hospital. She was the Principal Registrar of the Women’s Hospital for two years and has a broad range of experience in all areas of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Hong specialises in normal and high risk pregnancies. She is a mother of two young boys and therefore is able to provide practical advice and real life insights into the joys of motherhood. She gets enormous satisfaction in being involved in a couple’s journey through the pregnancy and delivery.
Hong also provides a wide range of gynaecological services. This may range from contraceptive advice following delivery to managing menstrual problems, pelvic pain and vulval pathology. Gynaecological problems may require surgery, and Hong is able to offer a variety of procedures including minimally invasive (laparoscopic) and open surgery.
Women’s health research is an area of special interest for Hong. She has previously been awarded the prestigious Young Investigator Award and Victorian Travelling Fellowship in heavy menstrual bleeding. She continues to be involved in clinical research.
Outside of work, Hong loves to spend time with her husband and two little boys Aiden and Nathan. She enjoys hosting dinner parties and trying new recipes.
