Dr Mahajan completed her medical degree at University of Rajasthan, India in 1996. As she was interested in Pathology, she completed a degree in Chemical Pathology at Christian medical College Vellore, South India. Then she undertook a Doctorate in Biochemistry at University of Tasmania. She decided to take on Anatomical Pathology training in Australia and enjoyed the training in both public and private hospital laboratories at Westmead Hospital, Nepean, Wollongong Hospital and Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology. This also included six months working at Children’s Hospital Westmead following her desire to expand on general pathology. In 2010, she started as a consultant histopathologist at ICPMR, Westmead Hospital. She is now extending her knowledge further, by focusing on the breast, gastrointestinal system and cardiothoracic pathology.
