Cataract, Medical Retina and General Ophthalmology
Dr Helene Cass is a cataract surgeon and general ophthalmologist with a special interest in medical conditions of the retina including Diabetic Retinopathy and AMD.
Helene studied medicine at the University of Sydney, graduating with First Class Honours. She then completed a Masters of Public Health before commencing ophthalmology training based at Sydney Eye Hospital. Helene was senior registrar at Westmead Hospital where she helped oversee the second busiest eye clinic in NSW. She gained extensive experience in cataract surgery, and all areas of ophthalmology. This was followed by a year in the UK studying medical retina and oculoplastics at Cambridge University and Moorfields in London. She has published several papers and co-authored a textbook chapter.
Dr Helene Cass is a consultant ophthalmologist and surgeon at Westmead Hospital. She supervises trainees in surgery and clinics as well as attending to ocular emergencies and trauma while on call.
Helene joined Marsden Eye Specialists in 2013 and consults at the Parramatta and Penrith rooms.
