Dr Hasanka Ratnayake is a dual trained general physician and geriatrician with a casual appointment in the General Medicine unit at Alfred Health. She is passionate about delivering quality care for older people in both hospital and community settings. She has a keen interest in falls and bone health in older people, and helped to create Alfred Health’s hip fracture pathway and follow up clinic.
Hasanka has a broad skill base in all areas of both geriatric and general medicine, with particular interest in dementia (diagnosis and management), falls, appropriate prescribing and bone health. She is experienced in caring for those in residential care through working in hospital in-reach programs and is dedicated to providing exceptional care in this environment. She is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Society for Geriatric Medicine and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (general medicine and geriatric medicine).
