Greg Malcher’s career as a rural GP has been spent in the Hepburn community. Prior to this he gained qualifications in children’s health and obstetrics. For over 20 years he was involved in providing community antenatal and postnatal care until the closure of the Daylesford Hospital Obstetric Service. Via his interest in post-natal depression he became involved in Men’s Health, while at the same time gaining skills and experience in chronic disease management and aged care.
He would like to see all members of his local community enjoy the best possible health. He is a strong advocate and exemplar of a healthy active lifestyle involving community participation, good diet and physical activity. He is president of the Daylesford Lawn Tennis Club, and has been a long-term member of the Daylesford Wheelsuckers cycling group. He is a keen gardener, often using such techniques on the golf course. He believes that Springs Medical has a key role in promoting the long-term health of the community via patient advocacy, supporting the education of health workers, maintaining a great work environment to attract the next generation of health workers to our community, and fostering a respectful and caring workplace culture.
