Dr Rosendahl is a GP with a long and varied experience. A graduate of Sydney University 1970, within 3 years he had practiced in Canberra, Alice Springs, and as a mission doctor in the Solomon Islands. From 1974 to 1980 he practiced as a Family Physician in British Columbia, Canada, where he was required to admit to, treat and refer his patients within the hospital, as well as treat them in the community, and assist at surgery on all his own patients. An experience of daily hospital collaboration with specialists that has no Australian equivalent. He returned to Australia, to a Canberra general practice in 1980, then relocated to the Gold Coast in 2000 and practiced at Christine Avenue Medical Centre for 3 months.
As well as general suburban practice, he also provided 10 week’s care on Norfolk Island in 2011, then almost a year’s care in Immigration Detention Centres near Northam and Weipa, subsequently 4 years of practice in Aboriginal Medical Services, in Mosman Gorge, Alice Springs, then from Mareeba to Kempsey, Condobolin and Bourke.
He has had an interest in skin cancer from the time of his return from Canada, and was taking photographic images for dermatologists in Canberra in the 90’s. He has worked in two dedicated skin cancer clinics, first in Tweed Heads, then in Burleigh Heads, for a year.
General practice is a practical art. His patients are interesting people. Dr Rosendahl makes no apology for the absence of a series of academic letters after his name.
