BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE Dr Geoff Lane is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and a Cardiologist specialising in Congenital Heart Disease in Children and Adults.
Dr Lane graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Pharmacy and subsequently went onto to complete his medical degree at the University of Sydney. Dr Lane completed his general paediatric training at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Sydney and undertook subspeciality training in Paediatric Cardiology at the University of California, San Diego. He undertook additional specialist training in interventional catheter based therapies at the Cleveland Clinic, Ohio. He is the senior interventional cardiac catheterisation specialist at Royal Children’s Hospital, having returned to Melbourne in 2003 after working at the Cleveland Clinic for 4 years.
Dr Lane is a frequently invited speaker at national and international meetings focusing on the care of patients with repaired and unrepaired congenital heart disease. RESEARCH INTERESTS Geoff’s research interests are with catheter based therapies and devices for children and adults with congenital heart disease.
