Dr Gelareh graduated from medical school in 2010, and worked as a GP in rural and very underprivileged areas of Iran. After moving to Australia she completed her fellowship of Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and continued training areas of interest, Women's Health. Gaining Certificate of Women's Health from Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
