Gaurie Palnitkar is a specialist adult respiratory and sleep physician. She graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) with honours from the University of Melbourne in 2003. After completing her internship at Royal Melbourne Hospital she moved to Sydney where she embarked on specialist Physicians’ training at the Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH).

Her sub-specialty training in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine was also undertaken at RNSH. She was admitted as a Fellow to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2011. Following on from this, she spent a further 2 years as Sleep Medicine Fellow at RNSH before commencing private practice.

Gaurie provides expert care in all facets of respiratory and sleep medicine. She has a special interest in the diagnosis and management of sleep disorders including Obstructive Sleep Apnoea, Insomnia, Parasomnias and Narcolepsy. She is currently undertaking a PhD in sleep medicine at the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research (University of Sydney). Her research is focused on the impact of sleep disorders on male fertility.

Gaurie is a member of the Thoracic Society of Australia & New Zealand (TSANZ) and the Australasian Sleep Association.
