Dr Frank Clark completed his primary medical degree at Newcastle, New South Wales in 1987. Since then he has worked in a wide variety of areas both in Australia and overseas. After 27 years as a doctor, he has a broad range of experience having worked in both the hospital system and also as a general practitioner prior to specializing. GP work and specialty locums have seen Frank working in some remote areas of Australia such as the Kimberley and Pilbara areas of West Australia.

Frank completed his specialty training in obstetrics and gynaecology at King Edward Memorial Hospital for Women, Perth, Western Australia, Poole Hospital in Dorset, England and Launceston General Hospital.

As well as commencing private practice in January 2000, Frank has also worked as a Visiting Medical Officer and a staff Specialist at the Launceston General Hospital.

Frank has been an innovator in the field of obstetrics and Gynaecology in Tasmania. He has introduced into practice a variety of new procedures, primarily in the area of endoscopic (keyhole surgery) and also pelvic floor repair and incontinence surgery.

In particular Frank provides specialist care in the following areas;

complex endoscopic surgical treatment, e.g. for endometriosis and laparoscopic hysterectomy pelvic floor reconstructive surgery surgical and non surgical treatment for prolapsed and incontinence. colposcopy assessment and treatment for abnormal Pap smears contraceptive and family planning advice and treatment infertility care up to IVF treatment management of first trimester pregnancy (less than 12 weeks). Frank does not offer private Obstetric care, but he does participate in a rotational on call roster with fellow consultants, Dr Ben Dhanaraj and Dr Felicity Dukes for continuity of care for the Obstetric patients of the practice.

Outside of medical practice , Frank is a proud father to 4 grown up children and step father to 3. Frank is also a keen sportsman. He is an avid cyclist and runner. He completed his first Ironman race in Cairns in 2013 and competed in the Melbourne Marathon, October 2014. His next event will be participate to the Point to Pinnacle in November 2016. He enjoys travelling, woodwork and relaxing with a nice glass of red.
