Dr Emily Wright is a gastroenterologist and NHMRC post-graduate scholar who has been working with Gastromedicine and Endoscopy (GME), at Mornington Endoscopy and the Rosebud Specialist Consulting Suites, for the past two years. Emily combines private practice with a senior medical specialist appointment at St Vincent’s Public Hospital where she is part of the gastroenterology and inflammatory bowel disease units. Emily has a special interest in luminal gastroenterology (inflammatory bowel disease and irritable bowel syndrome) and is part of ongoing research projects in these areas.
Emily has completed a fellowship in inflammatory bowel disease at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne and has undergone further training in inflammatory bowel disease in Calgary, Canada. Emily has recently submitted her PhD examining the clinical and microbiological features of Crohn’s disease which was completed through the University of Melbourne. Her research into the monitoring and management of Crohn’s disease and the gut microbiome has been presented at national and international conferences and has been published widely.
Emily is now expanding her practice on the Mornington Peninsula. She is consulting weekly at Mornington Endoscopy and the Rosebud Specialist Consulting Suites and offers endoscopy services regularly at both Mornington Endoscopy and The Rosebud Surgicentre. Emily is always happy to discuss cases with the referring practitioner.
