Emily graduated with honours from Monash University in 2002 and worked in several different fields of medicine before beginning her specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology. Emily trained at the Mercy Hospital for Women and the Northern Hospital, also gaining experience working in rural and remote Australia and East Africa. After completing her advanced training in northwest Tasmania and in Geelong, Emily joined the staff at the University Hospital Geelong where she still works. Emily is active in teaching and training for medical students and junior doctors. Her research interests are maternal critical illness and service provision for women in rural and regional areas. Emily lives in Geelong, and is delighted to be part of the Geelong Maternity Group.
