Dr Elissa Armitage graduated from The University of Melbourne in 1993 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. She trained at St Vincent’s hospital in Melbourne, then worked at Geelong base Hospital and The Warrnambool base Hospital. She went on to complete a CSCT in antenatal and obstetric care at Geelong Hospital in 1995 and has provided Shared Antenatal care with The Werribee Mercy and Western Health Service Sunshine since 1998. Dr Armitage undertook further study in Mental health by successfully completing the RACGP’s Mental health Skills Training course in 2004 and The Monash University Mood and Lifestyle course in 2006, qualifying for the General Practice Mental Health Standards Certification in 2010. Dr Armitage was admitted to the fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 1998 and commenced work at The Hoppers Crossing Medical Centre that same year. Dr Armitage has lived in the local area since 1994 and offers medical care that acknowledges and addresses the mind, body and spirit, from preconception to palliative care in the home. Married to a local cardiologist, and raising three sons, Dr Armitage as a passion to help families, couples and individuals find their joy in their health care journey
