Mr Elango Selvarajah graduated from the University of Otago, New Zealand in 2000 and currently holds a Fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS).

Since this time he has had extensive exposure to surgery of the foot and ankle and the lower limb including subspecialty training in foot and ankle surgery when he completed an Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA) accredited fellowship with Mr Tim Schneider in Melbourne.

In addition, he has completed another AOA accredited fellowship in Anterior Hip replacement and Lower Limb reconstruction with Mr Tony Dunin at Knox Orthopaedic Group and St Vincent’s Public Hospital.

He currently holds a visiting orthopaedic specialist position at St Vincent’s Hospital, Fitzroy. His commitment to teaching and research has led to several research publications in peer reviewed journals and book chapters.

He is involved in treating all conditions of the foot and ankle. He performs arthroscopic surgery of the foot and ankle, ligament and tendon reconstructions and fusion surgery.

He uses minimally invasive surgical (MIS) techniques for forefoot and hind foot surgery. These minimally invasive techniques result in smaller wounds/scar with quicker recovery. MIS surgery also decreases the risk of wound infection/break down and improves overall healing and results. With the quicker recovery patients can begin early mobilisation and return to work quicker.
