Dr Elaine Owen obtained her MBBS from the University of Melbourne in 1986 and became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners during 1998, having lived for some years in England during the intervening period. She has resided and worked as a GP in outer eastern Melbourne since 2006. Her general practice experience prior to that was obtained in rural and provincial Victoria, apart from 2004 when she travelled around Australia with her husband and three children, working as a GP locum along the way.
Elaine loves working with the diversilty of patients and problems that general practice engenders. She has no areas of special interest , but her gender, natural empathy and listening ear sees her performing a large case load in the areas of Women's and Mental Health.
