Dr Upjohn is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists and a Fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery. He trained at The Royal Children's and Royal Melbourne Hospitals, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and also at the prestigious St. John's Institute of Dermatology in London. After finishing his training in dermatology he then travelled to Dallas, Texas where he completed a year long fellowship in dermatologic reconstructive and Mohs surgery at the University of Texas – Southwestern Medical Center. Mohs surgery is specialized surgery to remove skin cancers with the best tissue conservation and highest cure rate.
Dr Upjohn is an expert in managing skin cancer and brings the latest ideas and techniques to this challenging problem. He has published numerous articles in peer reviewed journals, covering all areas of dermatology and has also authored a number of book chapters. He maintains an active interest in the treatment of general dermatological conditions such as acne, psoriasis and eczema. In addition to his private practice he has appointments at The Skin and Cancer Foundation of Victoria and The Royal Melbourne Hospital.
