Dr Teo is a specialist medical practitioner in rural and remote medicine with extended skills in medical administration. He enjoys all aspects of generalist medical practice and caring for patients of all ages and from all walks of life. He has experience working in hospitals and clinics throughout rural and urban New South Wales (NSW) and Queensland. He is currently the Chief Medical Officer of the NSW Police Force, providing clinical governance and executive medical advice to a state government law enforcement agency of approximately 20,000 employees, including sworn police officers and unsworn civilian staff. Additionally, he works part-time in private practice as a General Practitioner where he provides medical care for a local community of patients.

Dr Teo was born and raised in Sydney, NSW. He attained his medical degree from Bond University, Queensland. He has completed post-graduate specialty training and has attained a Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine and an Associate Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators. He is also a Member of the Australian Medical Association and a Member of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Occupational Medicine. He has published peer-reviewed research with the Cochrane Collaboration and Medical Journal of Australia, and is involved in the education of Paramedics of the NSW Ambulance Service on the Extended Care Paramedic program.
