Dr Donna Henderson (GP)

Dr Donna Henderson graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1987 and worked in several Eastern suburbs hospitals including Box Hill, Angliss and Peter James (Eastern Suburbs Geriatric Centre) while completing her FRACGP. Donna then worked in General Practice for several years in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne before being attracted to the field of disability medicine.

Dr Henderson has worked for over 15 years in developmental disability, based at the (Monash) Centre for Developmental Disability Health (CDDH) where she has been involved in medical student teaching, research and advocacy around the health issues for people with developmental disability. She was the founding Secretary of the Australian Association of Developmental Disability Medicine (AADDM) and has been active in influencing health funding policy for people with disabilities.

Dr Henderson has special interests in the holistic management of people with disabilities, especially children and their families. Dr Henderson is also a registered Primary Care Stepping Stones Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) Provider, having completed the professional training course in 2014.
