Dr Dinesh Epitawela an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with areas of interest in management of early pregnancy complications and family planning, menstrual disorders, pelvic floor dysfunction-prolapse and incontinence, hysteroscopy, pelvic reconstruction surgery and high risk obstetrics.
After completing his MBBS in 1999, Dinesh has gained over 17 years of experience in both Australia and overseas. He completed his Fellowship with the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2011.
Dinesh is a consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology attached to the Royal Women’s Hospital Melbourne and Monash Health- Casey Hospital where his broad experience in high risk obstetrics compliments his ability to manage a wide range of complications including massive obstetric haemorrhage, complicated caesareans, uterine rupture and acute uterine inversion. Dinesh mentors and trains future generations of doctors in his role as a RANZCOG training supervisor at The Royal Women’s Hospital. Dinesh has also served as the Director of the Women’s Emergency Services.
In 2007, the Asian Oceania Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecology awarded him the Young Gynaecologist Award for his work. Dinesh is looking forward to building his private practice in the South Eastern suburbs and is passionate about delivering and providing women of all ages with the most effective and appropriate care based on their specific health needs. Dinesh welcomes all referrals from GPs and specialists for general gynaecology including operative gynaecology. He currently provide shared care facility with Monash Health for obstetrics patients.
