Dr Jim graduated from Melbourne University in 1989. He did his internship at PANCH (now Northern Hospital) and Bendigo Base, and has worked in various Melbourne public hospitals and many general practices (including some time with this practice) as part of his training. He worked 11 years in general practice at Prahran and 8 years at University Health Service, so he brings a broad range of experience with him. He feels that “general” practice should be exactly that – general. He enjoys all aspects of medicine, although he has a soft spot for paediatric, obstetric shared care and travel medicine. He likes to know and understand people, and believes a sense of humour is undervalued in modern life. We suggest laughing politely at his jokes.
