Dr Andropov is the Managing Director of Territory Medical Group - a company he founded in 2005. A local who lived through Cyclone Tracy. Educated at Nightcliff and Darwin High, he eagerly returned to work as a doctor after graduating from University in 1993. He worked for many years at Royal Darwin Hospital, Aeromedical retrieval and with the Department of Defence. He became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practice (FRACGP) in 2001.
Dr Andropov is the QANTAS Port Doctor for Darwin. As a Designated Aviation Medical Examiner (DAME) he also welcomes all commercial Pilots and Air Traffic Controllers for their CASA Class 1 and 3 Medicals. He has a special interest in Medicine for Industry including on and offshore Oil and Gas to the OGUK standards and HUET medicals. Dr Andropov is a registered Examining Medical Officer (EMO) offering health services to Queensland's coal mine workers. He is an examiner for all Occupational Diving to the AS/NZS 2299.1
As an Medical Review Officer (MRO), Dr Andropov works with companies to help establish, maintain and enforce their Drug and Alcohol Management Plan (DAMP). Territory Medical collection centres are staffed and accredited to the AS/NZS 4308 for drug/alcohol urine screening and use a NATA accredited laboratory for confirmation. He is also certified to collect hair samples for drug analysis for legal and other forensic cases.
Dr Andropov affiliated Territory Medical Group with Dr Deb's Travel Medicine Alliance (TMA) in 2014. He performs travel medical consultations and is a provider of specialised vaccinations such as Yellow Fever and Q-Fever. He holds a Certificate in Travel Health (CTH) from the International Society of Travel Medicine (ISTM). He is the Travel Doctor in the Top End for the Department of Defence.
